I'm not sure I've ever even heard Swans. I'm fairly certain they're not for me, but I should really put it to the test first. What you recommend to check out?
And for the thread... recently I've been listening to Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Atragon, Shields and Weezer.
I'd start with The Great Annihilator. Their sound has constantly evolved so the records of recent years bear no resemblance to the early ones.
They are a bit of a Marmite band; most of my friends can't stand them but those who like them get pretty obsessed.
