Right, here's the lowdown on Burnt Body - they feature members of Trench Foot and the none-more-ferocious Leeched, they're from Manchester and this is their debut, out on Eggy Tapes and their ever-lovingly made cassettes. Oh, and the title, Queimadura, apparently means "burn" in Portuguese.
This is short, fast and ugly music, naturally. It is powerviolence and grindcore mingled with traces of crust punk and sludge. You hear it straight away, and stained upon every second until its end - opener Traitorous is of course ultra pissed raging crusty grind and hardcore of the Nails school; Dirt View is a pv approved sub minute splurge where you first hear what sounds like a vague sludge input, reminding me of another Manc band in Old Skin.
Other highlights arrive on Cultivate which jumps out at you, even though you're already pinned back, as if they took a ton if speed when they got this track, absolutely adrenalinised punk that has sat upright then launched out of the seat outright to go bang some heads together. And then there's Face Mauled with its humongous (and excellent) riff dominant, pure antagonism in aural form (sample lyric - "Keep scratching until the skull's exposed").
As the title track leads out, slower than the majority, moodily stomping its way home, you've been suitably dirtied and bruised by the whole affair. Just as you'd expect.
