    • Best evenings viewing for ages, black sabbath family tree on now

    • word. Was good to see something half decent on tv for a change.
Seems as if any time there's a "metal" documentary or something like that though, most of the time's spent talking about what IS and what ISN'T "heavy metal", where the phrase came from first etc. Boring! Would be alot cooler to just hear lots of stories n stuff from these bands.

I always end up feeling sorry for Bill Ward in these things, seems like such a nice guy, always gets a bit emotional when he's talking bout the booooze and leaving sabbath n stuff. Dope ma'fucker.

    • Yeah bill ward seems like super nice guy. Your right about them always focusing on what is metal etc, most people watching would already know that. Some funny tales in there though. Sabbath on rock family trees had some very funny stuff

    • I'm waiting for Tania to go out so I can watch it. I watched about the first half hour last hour before the moaning got too much.

    • Catch-up later methinks. Was out watching Higher On Maiden (awesome, like Maiden) and Mentallica (balls, like Metallica).

I think the man needs much more recognition as a drummer, everyone goes on about Bonham but Bill basically invented putting groove into metal if you asked me, just listen to something like The Wizard..,

Ward is a good drummer, but imagine if Bonham played on The Wizard, fuck me that'd be insane

    • Ward kicks asssssssss. The slow grooove winssss.

    • Ward by name, ward by nature.

Haven't watched this yet, so as my good friend Mr Schwarzenegger would say... GET TO ZE IPLAYER!!!

Oh yeah, and I've seen Mentallica before, they were wank.

    • Yeah, that was quite good. Hardly any info I didn't already know, and I thought they went a bit heavy into the Satanism aspects, but otherwise a decent summary.

Bill Ward seemed pretty emotional for the whole thing, plus he looked about 98 years old.

Brian Tatler always makes me laugh - he's a proper old heavy metal grandpa!

Always thought Burke Shelley was a bit of a tosser, but it was good that they got him in.

    • Personally thought a lot of it was a re hash of stuff I'd seen before. But still some good parts to it. Reminded me of why i like sabbath so much...

    • I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO IRON MAIDEN!!!

      It's all BBC fours fault.

    • I love Bill Ward, what a nice man.

I love Budgie to bits but Burke Shelley does seem slightly bitter. I think the main reason Budgie never made it as big as Sabbath or any of the others is because he's a speccy Welsh christian cunt!!!!

    • Did nobody else think it was a bit of a re hash of previous documentary's on metal? There where bits that I recognised from the Area docmentary... still was nice to see metal getting a bit of air time though.
    • OllieOllie
    • Yeah they did trot out a fair bit of old stuff...nice shot of Napalm Death for no reason!!!!
