    • Are these CD-Rs or proper glass mastered discs?

    • For that price, I'd have thought they were cd-r.
    • OllieOllie
    • Not a bad price then...if you go for the ones without covers you can always look at getting covers printed elsewhere...or get some half decent paper and print them yourself.

    • My understanding is Duplication = Cdrs and Replication = Glass masters etc.

Does anybody know anywhere that does replication for less than 500 units?

I think with the costs involved that 500 is usually the minimum...and ironically the difference between 500 and 1000 in cost isn't that much yet they can't do less than 500...crazy. It may be a case of trawling t'internet mate.

    • Cool. We'll probably do another demo type thing again soon and I like the idea of having better copies if I can. 1000 would be stupid and 500 would still too many.

Sounds good. Are they CDrs then?
    • PodgePodge
    • yep. CDRs. but you'd never tell the difference. its not like they bang some stickers on tesco value discs.

anyone who does glass mastering will disagree but CDR is just as good, unless you plan on still listening to it in 80 years time.
    • WickedWesticleWickedWesticle
    • Cool. I'll probably use them in the future then. Cheers.

    • Yeah I had a wee bit of trouble last time with sleeve art but to his credit he did put the hours in and sort it.

Yup I disagree, difference between glass mastering and CDR is clear. But since most people nowadays use the CD once to rip to MP3, it doesn't really matter! I only use glass master because shellshock won't accept cdr's for distribution.

Since SFHUK went down the pan i've been using A1

Website makes it look dodgy, but Merv is a lovely bloke, easy to deal with and sort problems out with.
