Big Wheel is rehearsal rooms... Might be a bit "intimate". It is across the road from The Shed, which is a venue however. Might be worth conferring with whoever is promoting this in Leicester...
what did you hear? Yeah I was told by duane in leicester that the big wheel was a venue..mmmm. well I suppose we will find out closer to the date. If it's a rehearsal space and it's intimate that could be kind of cool. Fuck it's a saturday I would hope at least some people would turn up for it.
Just that they got there and found it was a tiny rehearsal space and hadn't been promoted. Ended up just being the promoters friends sitting around in the space. Said the gig itself was okay but not really what they expected.
okay, well I am afraid that I don't know...you should contact steve at Royal Park Cellars site. There is a myspace link..Steve hasn't told me anything about the support other than he was looking for support. Fuck it turn up and play...not sure how well he has promoted it to be honest....It would appear that Leicester may well be the same, and I don't get it no promotion results in no one knowing that it's happening and if that is the case then how the hell are bands meant to survive. It's strange world
I just had a look and there's no mention on pineapster.com of the Leicester gig, and that's pretty much the equivalent of not mentioning a Sheffield gig on here.
Well, being a Leicester native (almost, I live just on the outskirts) I haven't heard a thing about it... If it is at Big Wheel, I think you'll struggle to fit both bands in a room at the same time nevermind any type of audience. I haven't been there for a while though so they may have had a radical overhaul and have some king of gig space but last time I was there the biggest room was about 20' x 20' ish.
Advice for anyone wanting a Leicester gig: Do it via Ragebreed Promotions, Redeemer or the recently set up Juxtaposition Promotions. Redeemer is more of a club night type thing but they do put gigs on. Ragebreed and Juxtaposition have proper venues on the books and promote like crazy.
perhaps you can spread the word as best you can in and around leicester...we need all the help we can get. Yeah I was told the place is small, but fuck how loud will it be...it will be tremendous. It sounds like it could be an absolute corker if people actually come to the show. You know one of those I remember when shows...like when I saw Go! play in a rehearsal room in London 18 years ago or so.
apparently it's going to be posted on pinepaster.com but as I have mentioned before, anything, anything at all people can do to help promote or further convey to others that the show is happening and that they should come to the big wheel would be mucho appreciated.
Just on the process of doing the rounds now Pete, Crawe are going to let me know if their up for it tomorrow (apparently the guy i'd been emailing is suddenly without tinterweb access).
heres the updated flyer for the time being.
