Decent cheap laptop

    • JenTheHenJenTheHen
    • So, I have got to the point where I REALLY need a decent computer and it has to be a laptop if I'm gonna do what I want to do on it.

But I'm a total retard when it comes to this kind of thing.

It just needs to be the better side of OK, needs wifi and needs to be about £300.

      Help!

    • I'm no expert so I'll let others step in but £300 seems enough for a decent computer for sure, mine was only £300 but it is a desktop.

I still hate laptops for their screens (headache-inducing), keyboards (impossible not to make typing mistakes with my fat fingers) and their stupid mousepads (give me an old fashioned mouse, not the rodent kind).

    • I hate laptops too but if you're travelling around on a shoot, they're kind of essential.

I think I should be able to get something OK I reckon but I'd love some recommendations!!!

    • I'd take Laddy's advice if he appears in this thread, he's never let me down technology wise.

For that sort of money, I'd be looking at something like this...

That's good, but save money by getting one without an operating system, as you're bound to know somebody with a snide copy of Windows

    • That is actually really good. Thanks Alex.

Might be slightly more than I want to pay though, but it's going on my list.

      Anyone else?

    • Funnily enough I was checking out laptops today.
What are you primarily using it for? As there are so many swings and roundabouts when it comes to laptops.
I shall have a goose for ya

      Edit:
If Ben can get you a discount on a dell an Inspiron 1525 would probably be your best bet

And thankyou for the kind comments Mike, I do my best :)
