    • dark knight - too long. too much crying and talking about feelings and shit. i hate christian bale as batman. he's a total prick. val kilmer was totally where it was at. or adam west. caine is a bobbins alfred too.

    • I agree with the Christian Bale comment. He can't act for shit and the silly voice was so unnecessary.

But the film as a whole is awesome.

    • my bot bot hurt and the fighting was too "safe". as a film it was ok, but went on too too long.

      that voice is ridiculous.

Oh well, I wouldn't notice any difference there. Every time I go to the cinema I have that problem. I am NO GOOD at sitting still and am the worst cinema fidget.

I have high hopes for Somers Town, which I should be seeing tomorrow night, due to it's ridiculously short running time.

Copious consumption of marijuana and a steady diet of drone is guaranteed to cure this.

I believe in Christian Bale. He was great in 'The Prestige' and 'Harsh Times.' Not to mention his stunning physical transformation for 'The Machinist.' I will admit the voice does jar a little in Batman, but it is true to the comic book source.

Sadly, a stoner's life is no longer the one for me.

The Machinist was predictable and disappointing. And don't get me started on American Psycho.

I just don't buy into Christian Bale.

I like American Psycho. What's not to like?

    • Virgin1 showed all the episodes of Star Trek with the Borg in the other day. Genuinely used to scare me.

I also discovered Twin Peaks the other weekend!

Granted the film's not as abysmal as the book. But I just didn't think it held anything original or thrilling.

Do you not find a chapter on working out, showering, shaving and moisturising interesting?

I found it to be just as much absolute bollocks as the rest of the book. One of the very, very few books that has been surpassed by its screen adaptation. And the film is dross itself, it's like a bad B-movie.

I like Bale as Batman, though. The silly voice is a nod to the comics, it's often mentioned that he uses a "harsh, grating voice" while being Batman. It doesn't bother me so much because of that, I think. My only criticism of Dark Knight would be that they appear to have thrown away Two Face in such a cavalier fashion when they seemed to be building him up for something big in future.

I enjoyed book and film of American Psycho, but his books tend to leave large gaps and are slightly over reliant on clever narrative devices over actual storytelling.

Batmans voice is over the top but as he seemed to hardly be in TDK it didn't seem to matter that much anyway. Otherwise, no complaints about Bale. Two Face seemed like a pointless inclusion to the film with hindsight, I'm not sure I like them having 2 villians in the new films, it brings back horrible memories of Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.
