made pizza la reine with a rocket side salad last night. oregano and olives slay.

gonna break an egg on one soon.

      :s

I love making pizza, might have to invest in a food processor with a dough hook though, as I get bored kneading dough

gordon ramsey's dough recipe looks amazing. i may stick a pinch of buckwheat or rye in there to darken the dough slightly and bring out a delicious sourdough flavour when cooked. either that or chuck in a handful of pumpkin seeds/pine nuts.

    • As part of my new diet (which, despite having to eat 2 bowls of cereal a day is yielding remarkable results already after a week) my wife made an awesome salad t'other night

      griddled cajun spiced chicken
      baby plum tomatoes
      mixed leaf salad
      avocados
sauteed potatoes and a low fat dressing

      Champion!!!

It seems I may have some sort of wheat intolerance, now I've practically given up bread I'm feeling loads better, less bloated and the weight is dropping off.

    • I've started a bit of a health kick this week, so all ideas welcome.

Last night was chicken and red wine sauce, salad and new potatoes.

      For lunch, it's chicken salad.

      Healthy ideas welcome!

Giving up bread really works for me as well. I lost a stone after christmas by pretty much cutting it out of my diet. I'm having a week eating grapefruit for breakfast, salad with low fat dressing for lunch and dinner of omelette or a bit of meat with salad. Last time i did that i lost 6 pounds in a week

      carbs = misery:(

    • Sarah got me some jeans off the internet last week and I couldn't do them up, tried them on on Sunday and managed to get them done up, still a bit snug but it's getting there, must've lost about an inch from my waist in a week.

    • Had weetabix with banana for breakfast which was bloody good.

I think I may have an omelette tonight with lots of peppers and onion.
    • JackJack
    • omelettes are amazing, make the low fat ones with 3 eggs beaten up, pepper, a little milk, depending on how fluffy you like it, then put the mix in a non stick pan.

Previous to this I always used butter as it makes a lovely omelette but needs must

    • I think I'm gonna do this...

      1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Stir-fry potatoes, onions and capsicums until tender and golden brown.
      2. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper and stir-fry for another 2 to 3 minutes.
      3. Stir in beaten eggs and mix it evenly with vegetables.
      4. Reduce heat and cook until omelette is set. Remove from pan and finish off by browning the top of omelette under a grill.
      5. Cut omelette into wedges, garnish and serve on bed of lettuce.

This is very true...but not too much otherwise they start to fall apart.

Sautee potatoes rule...boli 'em for a bit first, fry some finely chopped shallots in a little bit of olive oil then chuck in the tatties til golden brown. A nice alternative to chips.
