Not had a listen yet but by the comments on the page it sounds like they've gone with a stronger Hard Rock influence rather than Metal this time round. Interesting. Great cover art too.

All the clips I've heard point towards the metal/thrash of the 2nd album, as opposed to the mammoth riffs from 1st album

Boris - Heavy Rocks...never heard it before, fuck me it's awesome!!!!!!!

Yeah, one of their best. Superb art/ packaging too.

I've been listening to a bit of doom:

      Reverend Bizarre: Crush The Insects
      Electric Wizard: Come My Fanatics
      Candlemass: Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Dream Death: Journey Into Mystery (not strictly doom but an overlooked 80s beast)

Tres Brujas will be very much the album's "single". They have gone for variety on this album (from the tracks they played in London last week) and it ranges from galloping Maiden-esque riff juggernautz to ZZTop grooves. The artwork is astonding, I'm really looking forward to the video trilogy they have planned!!

Weirdly I also had Boris on today - Smile. Heavy Rocks is fucking wicked!

    • They're a cool bunch too. One of the guys is Simon Le Bons nephew. He's really young and incredibly talented. He can just pick up a new instrument and work out how to play it on the spot.
