Sothern Comfort and cloudy lemonade with ice.
      mmmmmmmm

ick. southern comfort's one of my favourites but if it's mixed, it has to be with coke.

very good on its own, but that's cause it's a whiskey flavoured liqueur not a proper bourbon.

    • noonenoone
    • scotsmac and ginger ale
netto sherry and cream soda ( tastes like creme brulee )

just two of the delicious cocktails I have invented for alcoholics on a budget.

    • what's scotsmac?

about £2.99 from Netto.....oh you mean whats in it?

a careful blend of mature british white wine and scottish whisky apparently.

i've had things like that, but not that particular blend. i don't like ginger ale though, is it worth sampling on its own?

    • no.
its strictly business. I dont drink it for the taste I drink it because I'm dole scum with no standards and a habit to feed.

Balvenie.... never tried it but my guide here speaks of it well

Seriously... Yamazaki 10 year. You will love it. It's the whiskey equivalent of a cool breeze on a south Indian beach. Very easy to drink, nice and fruity, delicious finish, usually about 20 quid so cheaper than most good scotch. Also, the 12 year Highland Park is delicious.

This one doesn't taste like any creme brulee I've ever had, nor is it pleasant.

I am heartily recommending the honey tequila I had last night. I've never seen Lucy quite so excited about a drink. Apparently she can die now she's tasted it as there's nothing else left to experience.

I was slightly less enthusiastic but still thought it was good.

    • Had some Southern Comfort with vermouth and lemonade the other week. Twas the good shit.

Quite happy I bought a bottle of JD recently, but I can't see it lasting too long :P

    • I'm all about the bourbons, although I've dabbled in some malts, usually pretty generic. I find them them to be really rough, but I get more used to the burning sensation as I get older (becomes more pleasurable than anything).

Every Friday as a young tearaway, I always used to get a bottle of house scotch from Jacksons. Ah, Glen Ardoch, the memories and drunken babble you caused.

As for bourbons, Makers Mark is where it's at, with coke or neat, nothing much else will do. Also good are Bulliet, Buffalo Trace and Jim Beam white and black. JD's pretty poor stuff and you can tell it's mass-produced nonsense, but it's alright for a daft night out. It's like drinking Carling cus there's nothing else to drink, to me.

    • Glenrothes is great. I'm also a fan of Lagavulain (sp??)

    • Lagavulin and Laphroaig are good, Macallan is also nice.

Not for getting pissed on though - I did once on beer and Lagavulin and I felt so ill the next day I was watching the tennis to try and take my mind off how bad I felt.

      Ardbeg is good as well...

When I went up to Scotland once I and some other people got a tour round the Glen Ord distillery which was pretty interesting.

    • I like Whisky, don't really know enough about it to pick out quality from tripe but got Glenmorangie and Jamesons on the go.

Question though, why does most of the stuff on the shelf supermarket wise majoritly 12 years?

    • I'm a bourbon man, not into malts. Find them too rough and just don't like the taste. Makers Mark is 1st choice, then Jim Beam.
    • Tino InsanaTino Insana
    • Makers Mark is first choice every time. That 'glugging' sound one of their bottles makes is probably the finest sound - outside some awesome music and lady 'funtime' groaning - I've ever heard.

    • heh its all about the sailor jerrys rum heh heh
    • JackJack
    • Makers mark is very nice indeed
