      Anyone remember Dogbolter?

YES!!! I used to drink that in my local Firkin pub!!

    • I remember Dogbolter, it was foul. So were all the other Firkin ales. I've not seen a Firkin pub for ages, have they finally bitten the dust? Not a minute too soon, I never liked them. Wetherspoons, for all their ills, have done a far better job of promoting real booze.

Who once said "I don't really like the the taste of lager"?
    • EggyEggy
    • I got a few bottles of ale the other day, last night i had samuel smith's organic lager. The night before i had an ale called 'cat's whiskers' wasn't bad but i prefer something that hasn't got sediment in, especially seeing as i didn't realise until after i'd poured it into my glass.

Black beer etc doesn't sound that great to me. Think i'll stick to my guinness.

Had a lovely local ale down town last week, springhead bitter.

This coming weekend i'm gonna be busier than i've been so far this week, footy and gigs mainly.

    • I'm giving my liver a rest this week, think I'd had a drink every day for like 3 weeks including proper sessions haha So friday night I'm not sure what im up to apart from picking up an exercise bike.
Saturday might be going out to The Intrepid Fox followed by Sin with my friend Kate from Cornwall, her boyfriend and another dude from Cornwall. Should be a good night

    • in his defence, donny drank two whiskies last night. one after the other after lots of beer. i saw it.

      that's pretty manly...

i have also seen him quaff shandy from half a coconut hollowed out and festooned with cocktail parasols, lime wedges and novelty drink stirrers in the shape of flamingos. through a jauntily angled straw.
