    • know point writing another list of quality bands but i fucking love crustcore and diy punk. politically and sonically perfect for me. weird how i've never wanted to ape that kind of style as i've always been more into the fast as an obsessive collector than the slow but i enjoy both equally. my top five would have to be:

      crass - started it all!
      doom - northern legends
his hero is gone - everything they did was perfect
      skitsystem - great guitar sound
intense decree - songs about skateboards!

    • I forgot about Intense Degree, cool band.

They looked like a total bunch of misfits as well...some were proper crusties and some looked like computer geeks.

How could we possibly forget the mighty Axegrinder!!!!

    • dystopia were mint too... practically everything on slap-a-ham, especially the mighty GASP for taking power violence to it's illogical conclusion, is essential. quite fond of dr and the crippens for the motorhead vibe and unseen terrors songs about garfield always raise a smile...

    • Dr and The Crippens were great, I had a great song on a comp by them called Mr Parkinson. Didn't fat Shane from Napalm Death play drums for Unseen Terror?

I had some awesome comp albums from that time, I'll have to dig them out and see what's on them...A Vile Peace and Hiatus on Peaceville, Digging in Water and North Atlantic Noise Attack on Manic ears and Hardcore Holocaust the Peel sessions.
