Misguided thoughts on metal

    • My wife likes Kid Rock, Foo Fighters, Guns N Roses, Whitesnake and bad 80's rock...she also like Britney, Kylie, Madonna...etc

She did quite like Clutch when I played it to her and she likes Airbourne and Wolfmother...there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

    • Linda likes some truly awful stuff, Ting Tings, Hot Hot Heat (which I can tolerate), White Stripes, The Fratellis etc, she doesn't really play music at home though so its all good.

Oh her latest obsession is the Sweeny Todd OST, she plays that on her ipod around the house and sings out of tune its well funny.

    • Tania doesn't particularly listen to music. It took about 3-4 months together before she told me what the last cd she bought was. It was John Legend. Oh dear.

    • my work mates think im some kind of night walker as im ALWAYS complaining about the night before.... i get into work and they are always like...did you play a gig last night luke?

one guy on my team is apparently into heavy music....as he explaines...he is a big fan of the crushing riffs that are....InMe...hmmm. i also have flyers for HOG, Corp, and other gig flyers pinned up on my desk...nobody really enters into conversation about music with me... i tend to name bands with the worst names just to see peoples faces....

imagine a middle aged womans face...a manager in my office.....i told her my favourite song was called "i cum blood" ha ha....

I like all those bands. For some reason though I still see myself as a 'rock/metal' type person, like a teenager. Silly.

    • The Ting Tings are catchy, nothing more.

The Fratellis are everything thats wrong with music, half their songs sound like football chants, the other half sound like the kind of songs old cockneys play on pianos in east end pubs in carry on films.

I quite like the White Stripes thinking about it.

Hot Hot Heat are ok, I've seen them three times with Linda, but their songs are basically a few riffs, the title of the song repeated over and over and the singers voice is fucking annoying at times. Oh and they'll never top "Bandages" and should have probably given up after that album.

    • Dave's the doom / heavy metal yin, to my stoner / psych yang... ;)

But.. on a low note, he does like a bit of Anal Backcharge (the band, not the sexual act...)

I can't believe you abandoned your whole belief system!

What you said about the Fratellis is everything that makes them great.

    • I never want to be in a car with you in control of the stereo then.

      What belief system?

Don't worry, I don't have the album. I always look at it when it's a fiver in HMV though.

    • I was speaking to one colleague about Pissed Jeans...some of them here are ok.

Some of them came to see Battlewitch play in town.

      Comments after the SHOW.

"So you are in a PROPER band then!"

    • My boss loves Pantera. And Slayer.

There's quite a few metal people at my work, probably because we're a whole bunch of geeks I guess.
