    • I forced the missus to watch the shining the other day. It's so well shot, but the impact has gone though. Same with the exorcist, it's laughable now. Not that anyone's making decent horror anymore anyway.

Fucking hell I'm in a moaning mood today. ahaha it's all shit!

On the upside... Gavin & Stacey was fucking brilliant. Couldn't get enough of it.

    • Oh and Pulling.

Pulling is one of the best things I'd seen in ages. Plus it's shot in Dulwich/peckham.

See I'm not all doom & gloom

    • I thought it was great, but I'd never seen it before, the soundtrack is amazing, fucking LOUD 70s synths, thats the kind of music I want to make.

We should talk Mike. I have my 70's synth project (in my head admittedly).

I want zombi to score a modern day film. That would be fucking ace.

    • Yes! I'm going to go and make some synth noise with my mate Wakey this week as we're both off work at the moment.

I just watched The Shining, very good.

Any idea what the hell the bear and the guy in the bedroom meant at all?

back at christmas we got wasted round a mates and he wouldnt stop banging on about this scene.... none of us believed/remembered it in the film so we actually stuck it on to find it... and there it was... a bear giving head to some bloke........ sorry i dont know what it means though...
    • EggyEggy
    • I can't recall that part. I only watched it for the first time a couple of years since.

    • Its literally about 30 seconds, she spots them in a far away room then it zooms in on both their faces, its the same bit where she sees a man with a head wound and he raises his glass and says "Great party isn't it?"

Is the idea that she has somehow part of the "Shining" ability here? Or are they ghosts or something?

    • Started watching this new U.S TV show called Mad Men. It's about advertising guys in the 50s. Only watched 2 episodes so far but it's pretty good. Everyone smokes, everywhere, in every scene. Even when someone goes to the doctor. The doctor lights up. And all the guys are fully sexist.

    • That was on BBC 4 a while back. It was alright but I got a bit bored of it, and went off and wrote a load of ninehertz instead. It seemed pretty well written tho.

It was about that time that we borrowed 'The Wire' from Gareth, and I've notbeen able to take anything else on TV seriously since.

    • Last of the Summer Wine, while drinking G+T. I felt like an old woman. I just need to learn to knit.

      Also, in my slobby day:
more of Skins 2 (I am seeing what everyone means about it not being as good)
Cricket on 5 and Olympics (I have watched all types of bollocks today - badminton, synchronised diving, hockey and gym)
