    • Ollie you need to get the Sienna Root album called Far From The Sun, it's bloody awesome. Deep Purple kind of vocals, classic rock riffs, organ, great songs, even some flute and a few stoner bits:D

i then found my Kerrang 'Supersonic' tapes from way back - great stuff - Type O (Black No. 1) Ash, Reef, Pist. On, dBh, The Dawn, Dub War, Kerbdog Cathedral, Floodgate, COC, Paradise Lost - two cassettes for free that got me to buy several albums, amny of which i still love. I know it's me getting old, but i wish free cds still made me feel like this did.

I've got the first two of those, although one of them doesn't work anymore, the downside of tapes is they get chewed up at times. The benefit of tapes is that it's not that easy to skip tracks so you end up liking bands that if you hear them on a cd you might skip the tracks after a couple of listens.

edit: and i've been listening to:
      stand-up guy - infixation, conspire
      chickenhawk
cult of luna - the beyond
      narcosis - romance
      the mirimar disaster
aereogramme - a story in white
freezing fog - march forth to victory
      scissorfight - new hampshire
      sika redem - entheogen

Got myself a new mp3 player, creative zen micro, 8gb, £30 off amazon, mint condition, unused. At least now i have a decent sized player that i can put new tracks on as my sansa one's just anal..
