Trippy Wicked @ South of the Border, London, 27th May

    • We are supporting Big Linda who remind me of Thunder (I'm gonna have to dig them out again now) and Sabatta who remind me of......a rock band.

We're gonna chuck in a few new songs that we'll be recording at Chuckalumba in June.

Here are some event links for those that care....

Battlewitch played with Big Linda. The bass player did not have much of a sense of humour. Probably because Battlewitch emptied the room.

    • Good work. Emptying a room is a skill.

I'll set Dicky on him then, get him to tell him some jokes and see what happens. He knows how to annoy people when he wants.

    • Should be a good gig.

We'd love to play with Trippy again, great band...really grown on me loads since I heard the first EP. We must chat about gigs.
    • WickedWesticleWickedWesticle
    • Cool. Did you get the message from the Skulls dude? We couldn't do the dates he offered but we can do early July.

Same here...it's actually Pete who plays bass in Gonga, did he mention that to you. We can't really do Thursdays so those dates were out for us too due to work but July is great for us although he said there were some politics at the venue with one guy quitting...etc. I want to get you guys down to Exeter at some point, in fact I've just emailed my promoter mate about you, and we'd like to get you down for one of our rare but occasional Plymouth gigs. Also got Medamaki and Domes of Silence on our wish list. Anything you get going on up there let us know dude...have guitars will travel.
    • WickedWesticleWickedWesticle
    • Ah yeah that's right. He didn't mention it but I did see it on his page.

Plymouth would be cool. I'm sorting some gigs a little further afield at the moment so we're up for that. Should have Leeds and possibly Sunderland on the horizon soon.

I'll sort a London one for you, us and some others.

I've been in touch with the Royal Park Cellars who seem cool to put us on sometimes in Leeds. Sunderland is a shithole, I used to practice there with an old band. What's the venue called as we played a gig there once? We're trying to book up a few nights in Exeter, cool little venue. I'm trying to sort something in Bristol but not having much luck getting an available date. I think you guys are now officially in the Grifter top 5 bands to gig with!!!
    • WickedWesticleWickedWesticle
    • That's an honourable place to be my good man. Thank you.

Dunno what the venue is in Sunderland.

Are Koresh in the Top 40? We'd love to play Exeter if the chance occurs.

Fuck, we'd like to play anywhere to be honest.
    • JackJack
    • Koresh should play in Cornwall, I think you'd last a good 5 mins before a yocal kicks off :)

    • John's an ace dude I really wanna go back their some time... but its a way and I'm loving John hannon's recordings of my stuff a touch more. But for pure raw sound on 2" Anlogue tape Stephen's is your man.

Oddly enough you are in the top 40...with a bullet!!! I have actually mentioned you guys to my mate in the past...you'd certainly wake Exeter up.

Jack, maybe we should try and arrange a Cornish all dayer and get a bunch of these guys down to the seaside for some rock action. An all dayer at the Clipper would be insane...except it's not by the sea. Cornwall is an awesome place to play and Koresh would almost certainly either get a kicking or be embraced as one of their own down there. I nearly got slap for dedicating a song about incest to the Cornish...by someone who wasn't even Cornish!!! The Cornish, on the other hand fucking loved it...bunch of sister fucking weirdos!!!!

The Cavern is a funny one, Pippa does seem slightly aloof...but exceptionally gorgeous. There is another venue in Exeter we play called Tiggas on Magdalen street. It's not bad, pretty small, reasonably cosy and has a vocal PA so would suit you a lot better than the Cavern anyway. I have a mate who plays in a band called The Black House who are kind of dark acoustic type stuff, he plays double bass in them. I can have a word and see if we can get you on with them at some point.

I don't live too far from Crediton now mate as I'm up by Exeter now. Let me know when the festival is and I'll see if I can get my ass up there...got a biker rally to play on August the first and hopefully the all dater on the 8th...and a wedding to go to on the 15th but if I'm free I'll trot along. Is it family friendly? Could bring the clan.

    • Yeah she is a weird one... I think she still sees me as a traitor for leaving exeter and not staying there. Yeah man that'd be ace... I play with a full band (we're pretty rocking!!!) now so yeah that'd be ace. Let him know... be nice for all my mates down that way to see me play again been a long time.
Its 28th August the crediton thing... should be lots of fun we're playing with some awesome bands too.
