    • I thought Skins went badly downhill after about half way through the first series, so stopped watching. But that's just me.

Been watching The Wire, season 2. Not quite as good as the first, but definately a slow-burner that's coming good.

Got a real hankering to watch through the whole Sopranos again.

    • Same as recent purchases.

      Cool Runnings
      Infernal Affairs.

      Both awesome in different ways.

    • Couldn't get into second series of Skins, loved the first one though. Second series just seemed really badly written.

Just started watching season 2 of heroes. No opinion yet.

Managed to sit through at least 30 seconds of 'The Kevin Bishop show' and 'touch me I'm Karen Taylor'.

What is it with the recent batch of talentless fuckwit comedy shows? The peter serofinowitz show was fucking awful too. Why aren't people sitting down and writing comedy anymore (moan moan moan).

What he said. Well, not really very good, but OK. Some utterly laughable bits in it, but enough nerdy in-jokes for fans. I won't be getting the DVD though, the first film (although this is hardly a sequel) is much, much better.

    • The Exorcist.

Its ok, some parts were rubbish though.

    • because it's all about stupid catchphrases and saying things like "i'm gordon fucking ramsey" in a vague approximation of what gordon ["fucking"] ramsey sounds like.

comedy to cater for the lowest common denomenator that relies on easily identifiable cultural reference points that make them feel clever.

I've never viewed The Exorcist in this light!

    • I think Kevin Bishop is hilarious. Sorry. I'm going to embark on an X-Files Series 1 megathon later.

I agree wholeheartedly with you on this. The BBC are the main culprits. What passes for a sketch show nowadays, you're lucky to find one sketch that makes you even smile, never mind laugh.

It seems all too easy to get a sketch show commission. I reckon I could do it, with some lame fart jokes and "observations".

    • It has gone down the pan recently, sitcoms have been few and far between too, when they do appear they are great though.

Little Britain was the start of the downfall, after the first series it just plundered to poorly written cheap jokes, culminating in a third series consisting of nothing but urine and vomit jokes.... its embarrasing..

last good british sketch show was probably Jam and sitcom.... probably the boosh.. but there is a lot of wang filling our screens... makes me want to puke and film it and sell it to the bbc

    • fast show was the beginning of the end... the whole "just the punchlines" concept was twisted into "nothing but catchphrases for the side of mugs"

the catherine tate show is a low point of television... it can only get better from here.

    • I just watched The Shining, very good.

Any idea what the hell the bear and the guy in the bedroom meant at all?
