    • Ahoy there. Me and my lot are off to the studio early April to do an EP and I was wondering if anyone here knows of any snazzy little places that do cool cd packaging. Short run, probably 100 units. But something a bit nice. Like a digipak, or one of those lancing packs (cardboard fold open thing with cd tucked away, one step up from a cd wallet). Just something a little different and pleasing, No design in mind quite yet but I'd like to keep it quite simple, for example just a distressed logo writ large on a natural card finish package or something. Any ideas? I've found places that do cool little bespoke packaging solutions but it's usually a 300/500 minimum... Any help/advice appreciated. Cheers.

    • stumptown do some really nice stuff
downer is that they're in the US of A, but shipping's not too bad

    • Cheers. They do some lovely stuff, just the sort of thing we're after really, but 250 minimum due to it being offset printed kinda prices them out the market for us.

Bugger. It sucks being poor and wanting to produce nice things. Heh heh. Cheers again dude.

    • Given the number you're after and money concerns I think you'll struggle to find a supplier.
If you're up for a bit of DIY, buy some cardboard CD mailers and make your own stamp(s) using rubber/ foam/ potato(!). I've seen some pretty decent efforts (aswell as some shit ones) using this method and it's about as cheap as you'll get. Practice on some bits of scrap first to see how you get on. It's worth getting plastic sleeves to put inside the covers as they can be a bit harsh on unprotected discs.

    • Yeah, it's looking like the DIY route is the way we'll have to go.

A cunning combination of blank card cd wallets, custom printed stickers (contour cut logo for front/solid block with track listing/credits on for back), and a bit of fingerpainting/potato printing should get us 100 done for about £50.

      Cheers all.

    • If you're after cardboard sleeves, eco-craft is dead cheap. You can buy them blank for £1.15 for a pack of 10, or they do printing too as they did with ours. Can't remember exactly how much it was but it was very reasonable.

    • Cheers Mr. mamba. That looks delightful. Can't see anything about them providing printing listed on the site, but I'll zap them a quick email and see what the score is. Ta very much.

Yeah, the website isn't the best but the service was pretty good by email/phone.

Hit me up if you want someone to do screen printing. Just starting out like but had very good results so far.
