In the spirit of things of a festive nature, I shall be releasing a download-only Christmas single, with the lofty and frankly ludicrous aim of getting it somewhere inside in the official Christmas download chart. Even a Christmas #33 is highly unlikely given my status in the grand scheme of things, but if the JCB Song can manage #2, then it's clearly worth a giggle.
The song is called 'Lost In New York' and details a cosy Christmas Eve in with Home Alone 2 on the telly.
As is the case with such singles, it'll be a charity affair, with proceeds going to Great Ormond St. Children's Hospital, who kindly put me back together when I was a nipper.
The single will be released around about Monday December 14th via most major download retailers. It'll be up for streaming on Myspace nearer the time, as will a video of some sort and a Facebook campaign group of some kind (if anyone would like to set the latter up for me and save me the embarrassment that'd be nice)
I'm also looking for gigs in the south-east around the release date to celebrate it's release. So far we have:
10th Dec - Cellar Bar, Bracknell
15th Dec - Joiners Arms, Southampton
16th Dec - The Europa, East Molesey
This is now off making it's way through the cogs of the download retailers and will be available via Napster, iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, eMusic, Yahoo! and probably some others. Awesome.
If anyone wants to pimp this around that'd be awesome. I'll be designing an ad/flyer soon if anyone fancies printing some off for distribution in their local record shops?
Single's not out til 14th Dec! Just trying to make as many people aware of it as poss til then! Making an appropriately festive video for it tomorrow, fingers crossed.
For those who haven't seen on Facebook, there's a clip of the single up on Myspace now!
I'm more or less done editing the incredibly shitty video (all the production values of a an Eastern Bloc porno), so expect it up fairly soon and you can hear the song in all it's glory.
