    • I've been having trouble the last few days coming up with some new riffs, I'm doing some stuff for a new Stubb ep and also making up some bits and pieces for a new band I'm going to jam with on Sunday. So I was having the writers block problem but I just dug through an old hard drive and found some demo recordings from an old band Hedge Dweller we had in Cornwall, found a bloody epic song in there that we never did anything with. So my idea is to look backwards to go forwards ha

    • I've not had a decent heavy riff in YEARS. Not sure it's in me anymore.

    • Happens to the best of us... I've not written a solo song per say for ages (for me that is) got a few bits and bobs but no solid new song... been working on the tracks for the album though and wrote some TCH stuff last night. But sometimes going back to old riffs can be good.

    • I've got an album in me, but nowhere to go with it. It's like Gentlemans Pistols/Clutch/ZZ Top/Led Zep

Slowly laying bits down in fruity loops but that's it really

    • Should record to a click, send the tracks to a drummer, get them to add drums, then add bass etc, very future now

that is something i suggested back in the kerrang S/D days.

i'd be well up for it. a few of us should do it for a laugh on here

I've laid down drums, bass and guitar for most of 1 song and started on 2 more. It's all electronic synths but you get the picture

Just need to get to grips with fruity loops really

    • i don't suffer from this at all. i'm so prolific that there aren't enough bands in the world to stop my cup from flowingeth over.

in fact i was thinking of booking a studio for a little while and recording the album for my BLACK NARCISSE project, GETHSEMENE. i will play all of the instruments and sing myself as it is MY VISION. then i realised that i can't be bothered and forgot all the tunes, but didn't really care as i will probably think up some better ones.

      i can literally SHIT riffs.

    • DonnyDonny
    • I used to be like that.

Now I shit happy little bits of twinkly music.

I am going to work on bob hoskins cock for Koresh though. It will be immense. Or short and stubby

Sorry it had to be done. I don't mean it... I like your riffage.

I write heaps of riffs and bits and bobs but I'm getting fussier about what goes into a song and what songs make it out the bedroom these days. This kid asked me once in an interview how much stuff I throw away. and its suprisingly a lot consider how much material I release. Also songs can get discarded or left for a while and revisted and revised. I'm certainly taking longer before the listening public get to hear finished songs... I think that can only be a good thing.
With the noise thing I think the reason I've been so prolific is because I record every practise and so for every 3 hour practise I can usually find 3 minutes of good stuff.

But its such a personal process song writing some times... obviously bands can be diff3erent.

    • I write riffs on a clean guitar, then go to a jam and amp it up, hope for the best, if it sounds heavy with no amp, its going to sound heavy plugged in. Quite fun that on sunday I get to jam some heavier straight up rock stuff, looking forward to it

    • if it takes longer than 2-3 minutes to come up with a song it gets canned. i have better things to do than fuck about with shit i can't even do and don't get any money from.

    • I write riffs then forget them. It's very annoying. I have a hard time coming up with stuff on the spot at band practice too which makes writing pretty frustrating most of the time. I need a decent home setup for jamming/recording riffs.

Get me IN as the LEAD singer. I'm amazing.....

"Let's take a trip to Rivendell, on pegasus we will ride...a fair maiden will guide us, in her hair we will hide"

That's just a sample of my Led Zep G & R inspired lyrics. I just typed that down..straight from head to my fingers to the internet...no critics.

I'm starting to think if I can't remember a riff it wasn't that good in the first place... its all about the hook lines baby!
