    • i think the casbah is a great venue... IF you get the right sound guy.
      
      seen plenty of shit gigs there but i think the best gig there was the lazarus blackstar/black sun/gloomy sunday gig..... that gig was sweet. (this has nothing to do with me putting the gig on tho) lol

      I've lived in Sheffield for 8 years and thats the only time the sound was good.
      It was, in fact, excellent but every other time I've been / played there it has been way below acceptable.
      This combined with overly aggressive bouncers ( who seem to pick on anybody with long hair or a band shirt whilst pissed up fighting lads in ben shermans are warmly greeted ) , a permanent layer of piss all over the gents toilets floor and quite frankly offensive bar prices for shit beer means I won't be sad to see the back of that particular poo hole.

    • Aye, it was a younger lad doing the sound instead of the usual guy, Bill Bailey-looking fella. No offence to the guy but he can't get a good sludge/doom sound for toffee, younger lad made him look amateurish.
