The flying wah-wah move

    • On Monday night the guitarist from trebuchet was just about to rip out the second solo from Punched in Nuts when all of a sudden he stretched his arms out like he was flying and then stomped on the wah wah. Obviously our minds were blown and the song nearly collapsed due to giggles but we soldiered through. It looked awesome but the sound was pants. It did not matter as it all style…….Like Jimi. ;)

Do you have any signature moves?

    • well, mazz, yes i do, thanks for asking.

      1) holdy uppy dive bomb thing - tilt head back, shut eyes, smile/pout, hit note lift guitar and let it slide between finger and thumb, resulting in a "dive bomb" sound. looks the money.

      2) power thrust - tilt head back, shut eyes, swing "axe" so you're "firing form the hip", do pelvic thrusts. nb: you can send a "spray of thrusts" out so everybody gets a bit or nail a "special someone" with a "concentrated burst"

      3) the wizard - turn back to audience and thrust guitar into amp (with hips) to create a whole mess of feedback. THROW head back and raise arms with hands in the DEMONIC INVOCATION CLAW shape to around shoulder height, then raise to the sky/ceiling as if you are controlling the feedback with your movements. you're not but it fucking rules.

    • i'll be shitting some of these out tonight.

also check out the avatar...this is for when i'm in "frontman mode". i'm doing "prophet finger". it symbolises the "talking stick" that ancient civilisations used to pass around duting meetings and spiritual ceremonies. here you can see me channeling my ancestors and if you look real, real close there are some spirit orbs around my crotch level.

ferdy doesn't have a soul so that's why there's a dark aura surrounding him.

    • The wah wah surf, stand one footed on wah, balance and rock back and forth while soloing. I tried that last gig, its fun and slightly precarious

    • I often bring out the claw but I'm no showoff frontman, I used to be, then realised I hated people doing what I was doing when I was in the audience so I stopped.

I used to just launch myself into the audience backwards and knock people about but its an arsehole thing to do.

    • I sit down on a chair and play music... maybe the odd stamp with my foot. Back in the day though was a silly billy show off.

    • Its all about the shirt of, sweat flying, head moving like a nodding dog powered by a V8 for me. The occasional squat with guitar hunched into knee's appears too, & then there's the old favorite "green man pose" starting upright, then tilting at 90 degrees to the beat, hair going in slow motion almost. My bands never did animated aside from me.

    • Back in my frontman days, I used to like playing venues with a low ceiling so I could pose like I was holding the roof up.

These days I just flail around the place.

    • My favourite pose is to rest my junior beer gut on the guitar and sigh heavily
