Excitement in Newbury today

    • mambamamba
    • The 2nd leg of the Tour of Britain cycle race finishes in Newbury today. I can see the finish line from my window at work.

I was supposed to be going to a seminar today but sacked it off to stay and watch. As far as work days go, this is about as exciting as it gets!

    • There was some "excitement" in shuttlewood this morning. First day back at school and there was a paramedic and a police car outside the infants/junior school. Don't know what was going off - my mother was keeping a beady eye on events, but they had a woman in the back of the police car. First day of school is the same as it used to be thesedays.

    • According to the blog I've been following they're about 8 miles away. I'm off outside in a minute to watch it.

    • Do you feel that your initial excitement was maybe a bit shortlived and somewhat misplaced?

    • Just a little.

After riding all the way from Milton Keynes, all cyclist were through in a matter of 30 seconds.

    • when i was a kid i used to like it when the rac rally used to be staged in chatsworth park and clumber park, i never went but i often used to see the cars being driven between the two events. It was always something that i would have liked to go and watch but when i got older they did away with the two stages. Also like with mamba your only gonna see each competitor pass by quick and then that's that.

    • it sounds like the kid got out of the car and ran straight across the road - infront of a teacher who was just turning up for work. eager bastard.

I could have understood it if he was running away from the school.
