      Good thing surely?

I'm quite happy not knowing anything at all about most pop music, also sappy emo wank. The music equivalent of crying into a hankie. Eurgh

Heh heh, there's a few of us on here defending the good name of it, and not the bastardized version

Mike's been listening to The Promise Ring, young Robert is doing me proud and getting stuck into the Deep Elm roster

    • The Promise Ring are incredible, Ste told me about their singer having a headache for like 5 years then realising it was a tumour or something? All while touring constantly and sleeping on floors/late nights!

It's all the same to me. One just has a few more values and sense than the other.

Love Promise Ring but they are more nu-Beach Boys than emo apart from one song off Nothing Feels Good if you ask me - greatness. I think when people talk about old emo they mean Rites of Spring then Sunny Day Real Estate and Mineral and other bedwetting stuff like that (not that I dislike).

I would say on the rockier side, I go for Texas is the Reason, Samiam, Appleseed Cast (a bit), even Thirty Ought Six (their Hag Seed record is the most out-and-out 'teary yet pissed off' sounding I have. Christie Front Drive and Mineral are slightly boo-hoo. Check out 400 Years for really grinding hard yet passionate. Also obviously stuff like Braid, Brandston, early Deep Elm pretty good.

i've seen paul almost get killed for putting a small metal nando's cock in a sleeping/passed out man's mouth.

      that makes him emoprince.
