Earplugs?

    • I recently had a medical, which included a thorough hearing examination. Consequently, I now have the knowledge that listening to Earth 2 for prolonged periods has cost me a fair few high frequency receptors.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent make of earplugs. I am aware they run the gamut of free factory industrial types to the Bono style designer wankery. Well I can't afford to spend Ethiopia's GDP on them, but I would appreciate any suggestions as to which ones to go for.

    • Go to a drum shop, get a decent pair of earplugs that look like little futuristic plastic trees. Will cost between £10 & £20 quid.

what this man said, i picked up two sets, one is always at the practice studio and one i take with me to gigs, they sound clearer than the cheap boots / superdrug foam ones. i think i got mine from ebay for about £8 per set.

i also got two different models 23, and 23a or some code like that, one set is slightly smaller than the other so have a scout round and get your self some

    • I got some Musicsafe Pro ones, they come with different filters that supposedly only cut out dangerous volume levels, allowing you to still hear what is going on..... i wore them for a bit, got one stuck in my ear, realised that i couldn't hear a bloody thing with them in, and went back to good old fashioned hearing loss instead.
I'm tempted to try out a few other brands, but that wasn't such a good experience.
