     Stick Shitly
     Crabs. The word normally means one of two things to people. Either a) Something an unfortunate pleb has picked up from getting a little too close to D-List "celebs" Calum Best or Jodie Marsh or b) the nippy little buggers that scuttle around all day in rock pools. Well here's a newsflash for you folks, thanks to Ohio's Attack Attack! we now have option c) crabcore. A genre of music so hideously diabolical even Kim Jong-il's finest evil scientists couldn't concoct it. Dare if you will to imagine the most generic metalcore you've ever heard, then blend in some shit eurodance that even Swedish prize tit Basshunter wouldn't touch, throw in a few Toni & Guy haircuts, a f**k load of auto-tuning and some crabtastic moves and you sir have got the video for 'Stick Stickly' - the musical equivalent of a bag of AIDS.
     
     Highlights to look out for include:
     0:58 – Carefully rehearsed synchronised guitar swinging and comical gang "Woohs".
     1:18 – Guitarist pulls off the first of many sick crabcore moves - all the more impressive given his painted on skinny emo jeans.
     2:00 – Hard-up model holds her head in her hands when it suddenly dawns on her that this isn't the career defining break her agent promised her.
     2:29 – Tubby singer lets out a oh-shit-I-missed-the-Hot Topic-sale scream as he introduces the crab arm pose to an unsuspecting world.
     2:47 – Just when you think things couldn't get any more hilarious, a techno middle 8 comes in and your jaw smashes on the floor in sheer disbelief.
     2:54 – Piss your pants time with Attack Attack!'s Mr Motivator-esque synchronised jogging on the spot - obviously fatso hasn't practiced this as much as the rest of the band.
     3:11 – The band's "pretty boy" vocalist shatters the studio's auto-tuner as he brings things home.
     
     
     
     
     Global warning. The Recession. Swine flu. Al-Qaeda. Fuck off big grey squirrels. If you believe the incessant moral panic spread by our beloved media then there's every reason to lock yourself in your cellar, start pretending to believe in god and pray for salvation. But when you hear a band as stupendously shit as Attack Attack! suddenly the end of the world starts sounding pretty fucking appealing. The Who may have claimed way back when that The Kids Are Alright, but remember, Pete Townshend is also man who thought buying kiddie porn on the internet was a good idea… The Kids Need Putting Down.

     It's the other Attack! Attack! playing Sonisphere I'm afraid. The Welsh lot are actually ok... saw them at Reading last year. I think they need to change their name.

    • You may mock the power of Attack!Attack! but once you've watched it a couple of times (just to make sure that they are serious, and that one of them is playing his guitar a matter of millimetres from the ground), then it starts to grow on you.

      It's just a shame that the whole album sounds identical...
