Robot Hive/Exodus is one of my favourite albums ever, but I don't like Beale Street. I haven't got the new one yet as I forgot it was coming out. Going to go get it tonight though.
One bad album for me doesn't spoil an amazing band, although if I don't like the new one then i suppose that's a decline for me, two albums in a row n all. I'll reserve judgement.
I've been into them since S/T but only started to see them live from PRF time. They are my favourite live band without question, when on form. They haven't been every time, but even on the "bad" days they've entertained, they've just gone off on a noodle for a bit in those gigs, but the other songs around have been top notch.
heh heh meant no offence Mr Parker, just pulling your pud.
They just never did it for me. I remember friends playing me the early stuff and gushing over it, with me stood there looking puzzled. Never clicked. Seen them a bunch live too and still didn't enjoy it. Each to their own though.
Like Chris i've been into Clutch since around the release of Blast Tyrant, and that is still my favourite album, i can't really say i don't like any tracks they've done, although i haven't got the newbie yet, and it took me many listens before i got into Beale St. I like the new bluesy direction of the album but i thought it was a bit weak re-releasing one eye dollar on the album albeit a newer version of the track. One of my fave albums is TSL, due to it's raw/heaviness, my mate at work doesn't rate that album at all, he prefers PRF and latter efforts. I'm in no rush to get the new album, people's opinions are off putting, but also i've got plenty of Clutch albums to pass the time of day when needed. I also like Jam Room, an album that barely ever gets mentioned.
Most times i've see them live i've really enjoyed them.
I just got the new one off my mate as a birthday present - it's alright, not mind-blowing but y'know, it's Clutch innit. Blast Tyrant is my favourite, mind, so I would listen to anything I say.
I never got into Clutch for ages - not sure what I was expecting. Got Pure Rock Fury and Jam Room but wasn't that keen on them with some exceptions. Also the constant praise they got put me off too - that used to always set me against a band for some reason when I was younger. Silly attitude to take.
I have the s/t somewhere. It's not bad, though the second half tails off a bit. First half is great though. Spacegrass is easily my favourite song of theirs that I've heard.
May get The Elephant Riders sometime.
Saw them live once, supporting Motorhead in 2006. They were OK but nothing too special - perhaps I need to see them headline a club show - but there was a bit of jamming if I remember that wasn't overly interesting.
First EP and three albums (and live shows around then) were great. I personally utterly lost interest after Elephant Riders. Pleased they got some success recently but they lost their mojo a while ago
