at 5 o'clock i'm setting off for manchester to see Electric Wizard.

As a result i'm working tomorrow night, off sunday night, and then back in monday, so i'll not be doing much else apart from work and sleep.

Went to this too, first time seeing the Wizard... sounded pretty good to me, drummer sounded pretty ferocious live, wish had a longer slot didn't help with the amp problem few songs in tho!!

Did you watch Xela? What did you think? Just seemed to be harsh electronics that built and built and not go anywhere or reach any conclusion....:argh:

    • Saw part of Xela, didn't do anything for me, i don't mind a bit of noise now and then, but i prefer proper music, or at least something a little different, all noise artists sound the same to me.

Freezing Fog were very good as usual, enjoyed the newer stuff, and bought the new album afterwards, also good to hear the old classics too. First time i've seen them in their home town.

EW were as awesome as they were the last time i saw them there, i've been listening to fair bit of EW over the last couple of days to famaliarise myself with their stuff as although they're one of my favourite bands i don't listen to them that often, and prior to this week i'd only listened to witchcult today once. Shame about the cable melting incident i was hoping they were going to play one or two more tracks to make up for it, but still worth it as they were just the tonic for a really shit week.

Only disappointment for me was that i'm still without an EW t-shirt, went to the stall after Xela but no M's in burgandy or green perhaps i should have gone earlier :(

Yeah noise tends to be much of a muchness and in a live setting did nothing for me at all.

Didn't get to Manchester until a bit before Xela so didn't see The Freezing Fog. Had hoped for an extra song due to the cable melting bit, but still worth it. Bit disappointed in the t-shirts as they are just what you pick up on E-Bay.

    • i might have to head down to ebay then. I usually have a rule whereby i only get t-shirts from gigs, that way i don't buy too many, but i might break the rule this once

Although perhaps i have more than enough tees anyway. :s

Garden shows! Thinking about maybe doing a garden show at ours some time... be in touch if we do.

      This sounds good.

Househunting was balls - one flat gone, an ex-student house smaller than where we are now and a house that we're seeing tomorrow that looks absolutely tiny from outside. Rubbish.

    • Saw Church Of Misery last night and they tore the place apart, brilliant night

    • I played Trivial Pursuit, watched Delicatessen, ate a very fancy tea and drank Lemsip until it came out of my nose. Most satisfactory.

    • Quite frankly, my weekend has been shit. I now want another one but can't because it's virtually Monday.
    • EggyEggy
    • I achieved something last night, after years of moaning about my shit hi-fi i appear to have fixed it, i took the cover off, cleaned the lens and now it plays two CD's it wouldn't play the other day, one being my brand new unplayed Freezing Fog cd. So no need to look for a new hi-fi now. woop.

Other than that a pretty quiet weekend. I attempted to watch Bullit last night, but after two or three glasses of wine i got too tired and comfy and fell asleep after about 40 minutes.

    • I saw the tomb of Edward the 2nd. I pictured the hot poker going up his bum.
