Professionalism in live situations

    • There's actually nothing WRONG with it. It's a sound piece of work. No obvoius flaws. It moves people in various ways. I'm looking forward to laying this track down and STRONGLY believe that it should be the first track on our 2nd album "THE ELECTRIC TREBUCHET" or whatever it will be called.

      whoa!!!!!!!!!

what happened to the life of jesus album?!?!?!

what are you going to do with "resurrection (jesus is going wild)"?

i was looking forwards to that crazy record.
    • MazzMazz
    • We discussed this quite earnestly a couple of weeks ago down the pub (When I invented the circular keyboard). The Jesus album will happen in the future. Resurrection will appear on the second album AND the Jesus album.

I’m currently writing to wealthy Christians and asking them for money so that we can fund the over produced Jesus album.

      God Bless.

"2008 11 15 Bradford on Avon, UK. Zappateers Party.
      55.14 Mins, Aud, A

Trebuchet were the 4th of 6 bands/performers that Saturday at the George in Bradford on Avon at the November 08 Zappateers Party. Despite there being no Zappa in the set, this 4 piece managed to tear the roof off the pub and good on 'em. The Secret Word for Tonight is PARTY LIKE CRAZY!

Here's the tech bit for those who like it.........

Lineage: Joe Meek small condenser JM32 Mics in an OTRF setup, feeding E-MU 0404 USB Preamp into hp nc6000 laptop using latest drivers and firmware (v1.3). Reaper software (v 2.51, Licensed) recorded and edited at 44.1KHz @ 24bit.

The mics were approx 6 foot infront of the centre of the "stage", and levels were reduced so that it peaked at about 6dBFS (Softclip was enabled on the E-MU as a safetynet, but only cut in occasionally to tame a couple of peaks).

The whole thing was increased by 3 dB to get close to 0dBFS on peaks.

Only about 7 seconds of salvaging was required at 1.01 - 1.08 of the opening track when the bass came in and blew everything into Bristol. Here there is a high pass filter at 160Hz and a 2dB drop. You dont want your speakers in Bristol! (Unless you live there)

Apart from the 7 seconds salvage, there is no eq, no compression and no other fx, tinkering or fairy dust anywhere. (I have left the opening gentle level rise as it was recorded - so watch out for your speakers at 1.01)

Tracks were rendered as FLAC Level 8 with no dither.

IT is real. More real than real. So real that we wrote "Rock and Roll Rock" last night and this morning I wrote the beginnings of a song called "Wet Denim". I was not going to do anything "ROCK" for two weeks as I feared insanity but I have failed.
