R.I.P Dickie Peterson

    • Dickie Peterson of Blue Cheer died this morning of cancer. For those of you that haven't heard BC check out their debut album Vincebus Eruptum that came out in 1968 for one of the heaviest pieces of psychedelic blues rock you'll ever hear. They predated Led Zep and Sabbath and pretty much without them most of the music we all listen to wouldn't exist.

      Absolutely! R.I.P Dickie!

Blue Cheer were immense at the Boardwalk when I saw em a few years back, extremely loud and Dickie was a very cool down to earth guy when I said hello and rambled! Blue Cheer's influence on heavy psych rock is immense!

    • I'm wearing my yellow Blue Cheer t-shirt today. Tonight’s Ratz Ass jam will be dedicated to Blue Cheer.

Check out the tracks "Rollin' Dem Bones", "Malajusted Child" and "Gypsy Rider" from Blue Cheers last album (2007).

    • The word "Gypsy" is amazing and always makes me smile. Rather like "Saucy Jack"..that always makes me smile.

Ratz Ass songs tonight are Cowbell Killer, Got the Rock and Rolls and Working Bluez. The death of Dickie Peterson forced the members of Ratz Ass together and iron out their musical differences over pints of Castlemaine XXXX, shots of white horse whiskey and flatbar spliffs. We decided we needed to write the best rock and roll album in the world ever and dedicate it to Dickie Paterson…it starts tonight.

      RIP
