   • It looks like I might have an evening on my own in Reading next Tuesday as I'm on a course there on the Wednesday morning first thing. Does anyone know if there's anything remotely interesting to do there on a Tuesday night or am I better off with room service, my ipod and a good book?

   • It had 2 decent places... but they turned one into something (Turks) and the other one into something else (Purple Turtle) chav-tastic places me thinks lol!!, there's a cool rock pub which Obiat play and which Laz does gigs for (can't remember that either... anyone know??) Far too early to be thinking!!!

   • The Purple Turtle's still there as far as I know. It better be! It's still the best late night drinking hole in Reading. The Rising Sun is probably the other one you're thinking of. I know the Turks shut down. Not sure what they've done with it. Haven't been out properly in Reading for a while.
     
     Alternatively, if you're catching the train Ollie, feel free to jump off at Newbury and I can show you the sights. Won't take long!
