   • Y'see i had an idea to combat transport costs...is called the Megabus tour.
     
     Book buses around the UK well in advance so the prices are dirt cheap, then play gigs in megabus destinations around the country. It's only a matter of time before megabus start sponsoring this kind of thing...in fact i'm gonna make a nifty powerpoint presentation and pitch it to em.

   • It's not that ridiculous an idea...although I can see a few raised eyebrows when we rock up with an 8x10 bass cab to fit in the bagge hold.

   • Tom & i did London in a day from Sheffield on the train and we've done Leeds on train / coach so this is a workable idea, problem is the megabus is quite a limited route last time i looked

   • hmm, upon looking at the destinations list i reckon you could book a pretty substantial tour around it. I agree though, the main problem is carting gear around.

   • problem is you cant go from one to another, most are leeds - london / sheffield - london, you cant go from leeds to sheffield

   • Agreed but you could do Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Sheffield/Leeds, London, Liverpool(or anywhere else) in that order without any transfers(which unless you're based in london is pretty good going). Plus Birmingham bus station is like a hub, so on anywhere else you'd like to vist can probably be reached via that. There's loads of combos and it's only 40 miles between Sheffield and Leeds so none of yer nonsense, am sure you could organise something for that leg.
     
     Anyway i'm getting far too into this.

   • we've done sheffield - leeds - sheffield in a day for a gig anyway, i just didnt want to have to go all the way to london and back to do it.
     
     as long as its breakables only, its easily done equipment wise
