Never Attend Aviation Meetings? No Adam Ant Mementos? Neil Armstrong Ate Mice? Nazi Aims At Midget?
What in Bobby Leibling’s boxer-shorts does NAAM stand for anyway? I’ve absolutely no idea, but what I do know is that if I want a generous side-order of psychy trip-out with my entree of skull-rattling doom, then I tend to give this badass American four-piece yet another whirl on my cosmic gramophone. NAAM are certainly no strangers to DesertScene regulars after their earth-tremoring set last year in Camden with The Atomic Bitchwax, and we’re again delighted to welcome these innovative New Yoickers back to our humble shores. Approaching stoner-doom from the mantra-summoning Krautrock end of it’s enchanting universe, NAAM have already wowed us across their ‘Kingdom’ EP and a self-titled LP both out on TeePee Records. Now they’re back once again to swirl London up into a vortex of equilibrium-challenging prayer whilst boogie-ing us all senseless in the process with brand spanking new material in tow from ‘The Ballad of the Starchild’ EP. If you like your heaviness rich, vast and devastatingly groovy, grow a beard and get down to stroke it with us and NAAM at DesertFest 2013. Just leave Bobby Leibling’s boxers alone, yeah?!
