      God Is an Astronaut are an instrumental/post-rock three piece band hailing from the Glen of the Downs, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. They formed in 2002. Their name was inspired by a famous quote from the movie Nightbreed.[1][2] They released their debut album The End of the Beginning (2002) on their own Revive Records label. Their two music videos for The End of the Beginning and From Dust to the Beyond received airplay on MTV UK and on other MTV European networks.

      All Is Violent, All Is Bright (2005) is the band's second album. The single Fragile from the album received plays on MTV2 UK's 120 minute show and MTV's "The Comedown" show. God Is an Astronaut released an EP called A Moment of Stillness in 2006.Their third album, Far from Refuge, was released in April 2007 on Revive Records and as a download via their website.
      Their fourth, self-titled album God Is an Astronaut was released November 7, 2008 on Revive Records.

      The Butterfly Explosion came together in 2005 with the release of the demo EP ‘Vision’. Within a year the EP earned them showcases at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. The 2nd EP ‘Turn The Sky’ was released in October 2006. Two of the tracks, ‘Sophia’ and ‘Next Year’, featured in the Top 100 Songs of 2006 on Dublin’s Phantom FM. Another of the tracks ‘Carpark’ featured in the monthly Top 10 playlist of UK’s MOJO magazine.

      Irish magazine Hotpress highlighted Butterfly Explosion in their new acts to look out for in 2007, a year of extensive gigging including tours with 65daysofstatic and Howling Bells, a North American tour(Philadelphia, NJ, New York, Detroit and Toronto) and Estonia (Paljassaare Rock Fest).

      Recording on the debut album began late 2008 with producer Torsten Kinsella (God Is An Astronaut) with release scheduled for January 2010.
