    • There's a competition to design the artwork for the next Low Sonic Drift release, thought a couple of ya might be interested so here's the lowdown...

      Low Sonic Drift album release and artwork competition!

      Low Sonic Drift are a psychedelic minded heavy rock outfit from Glasgow, Scotland. Their debut effort is due to be released on May 2nd through Theoretical Records, and we're inviting you to design the artwork!

      Entitled "Shadows" the album encounters fervent dogs, accursed crows and a total eclipse culminating in a battle of epic proportions. The title track and "As the Crow Flies" can be found on myspace and last.fm.

      Details of the competition:

      There are very few guidelines here, all we want you to do is to come up with something that you think its reflective of the music of Low Sonic Drift. Entries can be individual or collaborations, they can be paintings, photography, scuplture, whatever you want.This record will be distributed as a standard Jewel Case CD. The booklet will be 4 pages (front cover, 2 page inside, back cover) and there will also be the back cover to the CD. Artists are reminded that on the back cover to the CD there will be tracklistings etc. and the inside of the booklet will include credits etc.

      The only rules of entry are as follows:

      1: All entries must be supplied in DIGITAL format.
      2: All entries must be of Standard Jewel Case CD booklet size.
      3: Artwork for main front and back covers the MINIMUM requirement
      4: £100 Cash Prize will be received once pressing is completed
      5: Any questions - do not hesitate to email!
      6: CLOSING DATE: 10/4/09

    • ha ha! I didn't even read the entry requirements, but I've come up with a few ideas for a 'credit crunch' dining scene, sort of involving toilet roll as napkins and polos and nescafe sachets as after dinner coffee and mints...er...um....

    • Ah, just read a bit more about it...I can adapt an idea I had for a cover version of 'skyline pigeon' by Elton John that I was going to do a few years ago.
