    • I'm going to be in Sheff tomorrow afternoon with some time to kill, and also fancy dusting the cobwebs off...

Does anyone know any decent walking spots? Parks, trails, woods whatever, as long as it's not too far a drive from the centre.

      Ta.

    • well i class a walk as something 12 mile or more. you'd have to do a lot of laps of anything in town to make that up.

    • When I want a walk round here I generally jump on a bus to Fox House and do the circuit round Higger Tor but occasionally I do the first part of the round walk

From point 1 ( Hunters Bar ) to Ringinglow but then down Ringinglow Rd. back onto Ecclesall Rd. and your starting point. It's all steady going with mild uphill parts , little bit muddy but lots of woods and water.
2 hours at an easy pace?
You even get to see an Alpaca farm in Ringinglow!
Only downside is Ringinglow Rd. is just that. A road.
Thats the boring bit but thats what you get for walks near the city I guess.

    • Yeah, I was saying the other day I really want to do the whole round walk at some point. We should roam in a pack.

Kev's suggestion is excellent. If you're shorter of time I went for a nice walk along Limb Brook in Ecclesall Woods the other day.

I class a walk as anything where I can't park as close to something as I would like.;)
