Cueto yes, but that big oaf Goode at 10? Shows how desperate they are...still hope they do well, as usual, and as per usual they will let me down and I will end up cheering for Wales.
Well, with Cipriani binned off to the Saxons and Flood injured, they didn't really have many options. Geraghty's an unknown quantity, but I'll reckon he'll get some time if we've got a decent lead at any point. Goode's a safety choice, whatever he may not be able to do, he can tackle, he'll kick his penalties and he won't have his clearances charged down.
Good to see Steffon Armitage get the call, and good to see Cueto in for Monye. Tindall over Noon makes sense too, be interesting to see how Flutey goes with people who can make tackles around him.
Tindall may be boring, but I'd sooner have a boring contribution than a complete non-performance, which is what Noon was offering in the autumn.
Anyway, I don't subscribe to the theory that rugby has to be backs dominated and full of risky passes to be entertaining. That's certainly good to watch, when it's done well, but a physical or tactical contest can be just as enthralling. Although the IRB seem to disagree with me. Pulling down mauls my arse.
Totally - England beating Australia in the last world cup was one of my rugby all time highlights not just because it was the aussies but because the pack just about demolished them via togetherness and focus.
