New UK Rock Festival

    • "Metallica are being approached to headline a brand new rock festival next summer, according to the latest round of web speculation. The new festival will apparently be held at Knebworth and will take on Download. Stuart Galbraith (CEO of concert promoters Kilimanjaro) told eFestivals: "There's one new festival, which we're looking to launch next year, which at the moment I can't tell you a lot about. It's very much in the rock vein, to enter the marketplace in the same area as Download."

    • Let's hope it's aimed at the 'silver surfers' ie the ageing 25-40 market, unlike other festivals

    • Nah, it'll be all the shitty latest trend bands with a couple of token decent bands.

    • I see that Hammerfest have some good bands...and some poor.

"Ran in conjunction with the people who brought you Hard Rock Hell, Hammerfest will take place on April 24th-25th at Pontins Holiday Camp in Prestatyn, North Wales and will feature more than 50 metal bands taking the stage across six arenas.

Joining headliners Bullet For My Valentine at this historic metal event will be Saxon, Hammerfall, Skindred, Cathedral, Alestorm, Grand Magus, Trebuchet, Sabbat, TYR, Exit Ten, Annotations Of An Autopsy, Trigger The Bloodshed and Dream Evil with a further 35 metal heavyweights still to be added to this mighty line-up."

I doubt it. Download backfired massively this year. All that money to burn and they did it well.

    • One of my mates is getting the plan sorted already.

"Google recoomends we take the Poole - Cherbourg ferry. From Cherbourg it is about 230 miles to Clisson, just outside Nantes.

The whole thing would take us about 8.5 hours from Bath."
