     Who doesn’t like celebrities? No one likes celebrities. We intrude into their daily lives in order to instigate suicides that will usher in a bountiful Fall Harvest (Excuse me; I’ve been watching a lot of South Park lately).
     
     Celebrity Love Crisis is guitarist Matt Dick’s home away from home in York’s Analysis of Bison Kills. Like that band, Celebrity Love Crisis thrives on fast guitar play and syncopated rhythms, but has fewer textures and less despair.
     
     “Make it Loud Like Star Trek” kicks off the EP with space-ship noise guitar noodling. I can only assume the slides half way through are the transporters beaming the crew onto the surface of a strange planet with multi-colored, loose women. “Blowjob Soliloquy” includes syncopated chugging and the only vocals on the album, in the form of drawn out “Whooahhh”s. A bit too literal perhaps, but it’s an interpretation with which one can’t argue. “Fat and Glamorous” finishes things up with some advanced timing antics and some melodic spacey parts. It’s the most intricate and dynamic song of the three.
     
     Limited to 100 mini-discs, it’s not likely you’ll find a copy of this, but it portends good things. Celebrity Love Crisis have two fun, straight forward tunes and one complex tune which could be the basis for a new direction for the project. Either way, it’s worth checking out. (Incidentally, Analysis of Bison Kill’s Vantage has grown on me quite a bit since I reviewed it - it definitely merits repeat listens.)
