Nottingham based metal/doom/whatever label Sound Devastation have finally released the much anticipated vinyl version of the collaboration between Canadian doom legends NADJA (Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff), and New Zealand drone titans BLACK BONED ANGEL (who feature Campbell Kneale of Birchville Cat Motel fame).
The collaboration is titled 'Christ Send Light' and is one song, clocking in at just over 21 minutes long. A drone epic, puntuated by pounding tribal drums and haunting choral vocals, this is some of the best material either band have produced to date.
Hot on the heels of their split record with A STORM OF LIGHT on Robotic Empire and their recent European tour, NADJA are planning more tours for 2009 to support new releases including 'Christ Send Light'. The LP is limited to only 750 copies, comes on heavyweight black 12" and features an old fashioned acid etching on the B side (as opposed to the standardized laser etch employed mostly today). BLACK BONED ANGEL have recently released a new album on 20 Buck Spin (Kylesa, etc).
