A CD postage question...

    • Anyone reckon I'll get away with posting a cd album with 8 page booklet, a badge and a sticker in a typical jiffy with one large first class stamp?

I bought a whole load of them thinking I could, but now I'm not so sure!

Save me a trip to the post office if any of you label types know?

    • How much is a first class stamp worth?

I think it'll be 90p to post that unless it's under 5mm thick. Otherwise it's classed as a packet and the price is a bit different.

    • 62p I think, bugger, better get some more in.

    • Hmm, found the weight and size restrictions online, so I'll weigh one up and hope for the best.

    • Are they in the plastic sleeves or jewel cases?

You might be able to use cardboard backed envelopes but they could be pricey.

    • Are these copies people have bought or copies sent for review?

A lot of labels if they're sending out review copies save on the postage by putting all the label artwork...booklet, CD tray...etc into a plastic CD wallet as it's the jewel case that takes up the cost. I get quite a bit of stuff to review done like this.

    • Yeah, Westie is pretty spot on with the 90p marker. From my ebayying experience, thats the typical rate.

    • Yeh 90p sounds about right - the whole lot weighs 127g or so. I'll just get a bunch more stamps I think. Ta for the help!

I did think about taking out the cases for review copies, but this always used to annoy me as a reviewer, especially if i really liked the thing!

I did annoy me when I got review stuff until I realised I also had a bunch of cases left over from sending out our own stuff for review so it worked out nicely.
