    • I've just downloaded this to get a few ideas down and recorded on my PC. Anyone know anything about it? It was free and seems pretty good. Anyone know of anything better out there to download...for free?

    • nah mate...you're good with that. cheap behringer mixer or guitar pod for your levels and download renoise for free for sequencing and you are laughing all the way to your tightarse's home studio bank.

t'dolomite recorded all our pretty mighty output using all that bollocks and it sounds enormous*

*read: shit - but it'll probably work alright for you.

    • I think that's about as good as it gets for free but I'm no expert. I've never used it for recording, just for messing with existing .wav files.

    • I did have a little faff with out on the tracks we're putting on the EP through Catacomb just to see what it can do and did a rough master of the EP...boosted the levels slightly, increased the gain and compression. Actually sounded pretty darn good...nice and gnarly with the gain edged up a bit.

We'll still get the mastering done properly though.

    • audacity is good but sufer from multi track delay lag unless you ahve a good sound config on your computer ie

you record one layer and its in time then play it back and over dub in time but it puts it out of sync you can frag it back i nsync but its a pain

i suggest get this free one intead much better "KRISTAL"

    • I'll have to check them out. I haven't tried recording yet as I need to sort a mic out but had another play last night with someof our stuff and it's sounding sweet.
