Newcastle, whats there to do?

    • Right then, I'm going to see Russell Howard there on Monday and staying over, are there any places to eat that people here would recommend? Also, have most of the next day to spend there too, anything I should see? I'm already planning a pilgrimage to Jeff from Byker Grove's grave.

    • I've gone blind! I cannae see!

Get yourself to the Baltic. Also, I really like The Laing.

Tyneside cinema is great as well and has a pretty good 50s diner style cafe with good food.

You could even drive out to the seaside. I would recommend going to Tynemouth. Very pretty and good chips!

If you want to go for a drink, get to The Cluny. Really nice pub in the Ouseburn Valley, which is really rather pretty.

      I could go on, but I won't...

Which hotel are you staying at and where is it?

    • Only a travellodge by the quayside, we're only going to have time to go for a meal at night and maybe a quick pint, but Tynemouth would be good for Tuesday.

    • I'm not really down with Quayside so much. Went to a cheapo pub there for breakfast when I had a hangover once, but it wasn't special.

Jesmond is good for restaurants. That's not far out of town.

But there's plenty of places down at the Quayside. One of the actors proper loved Big Mussel. I think it's quite pricey though...
