I was listening to The Clash's London Calling album til I realised it k=just sounded like a shot version of Bruce Springsteen with added lame reggae!!!

I never really understood the appeal of The Clash. Maybe if I was 15 in 1977 they would have changed my life but I always found them incredibly dull and un-moving.

      I've been spinning;

      Sugar- Copper Blue
      Godflesh- Hymns
      High on Fire - Snakes....

The first Clash album was ok but after that they seemed to make a collective decision to be shit...maybe so their average songs would shine amid the crap!

i have a game that i play: i run around the house in my pants with a bass guitar, chasing juggers whilst playing "guns of brixton". the game is called "jugs of wimbledon".

so the clash are ok with me.:lips:

sorry fella, but that's just bullshit. i've eaten more boar than you've had hot dinners, squire.

i am now listening to Noel Coward - The ULTIMATE Collection

    • Last night I downloaded The Shadow Over Atlantis by the Wounded Kings and had a listen...it's the most boring load if shit I've heard in years. Mindless, generic, turgid riffs, the same monotonous pace all the way through, unispiring songwriting, and weedy, bland vocals. After listening to a bunch of 8 minute plus songs (and I use the term loosely) I finally get to the final track and see that it's 10 minutes long!!! I turned it off and ended up watching Katie Price and Alex Reid's wedding on TV...now I think she's a stinking whore but it was far more entertaining than the album. One to delete off my ipod!!!

      Death From Above 1979

      Remember them?

Watain still, and Celtic Frost - Into The Pandemonium, which is jolly difficult listening. Tom G Warrior's weird.

Weren't DFA1979 the ones some wag called Polite-ning Bolt?

Into The Pandemonium is a cracking album but still an odd listen all these years later. It caused a right old rumpus when it came out, the metal press got a bit upset with its bizarre delights. I really like Monotheist but my only criticism is that it didn't have any really unexpected or ground-breaking stuff going on.

I'm spinning Infest, Voivod and Wolfbrigade today.

Yeah, Lightning Bolt are OK in small doses but a bit hectic. Great live performances though.

This morning I'm revisiting Sons Of Otis- Templeball. I'd forgotten how much I liked it.

    • Silence. My car stereo refused all CDs fed it this morning, and not favouring the radio, I drove all the way to work in abject silence.

Anyone else find they really can't abide not listening to something at least?
